Including the world premiere showing of the 'gloriously beautiful' La Femme, first and only car designed especially for her majesty -- the American Woman. It was a Custom Royal Lancer coupe painted sapphire white and heather rose. It included an umbrella and handbag. Apparently her majesties weren't impressed -- the La Femme returned in 1956 but it wasn't a success. Read more about it here.
1955 DeSoto promotional model from my collection, a 1980s X-El reissue using original Jo-Han molds. Models like these were often given to the customers' children as well as
very graphically showing the various color combinations. The
dealership models did not have friction motors. The versions with them
were sold in toy stores and hobby shops across the country. I wanted
all of them.
