1955 Los Angeles Auto Show Part Five: Oldsmobile
There were lots of Oldsmobile dealerships in Southern California in 1955 -- sadly, not many of the buildings still exist.
This was Harvey Smith Oldsmobile in Inglewood.
This was Paola Oldsmobile in La Crescenta. Half of it is still being used as an automotive shop.
Surprisingly, the former Kaiser Brothers Oldsmobile on South Figueroa in downtown Los Angeles appears not to have been significantly altered.
This was Roland Oldsmobile on South Vermont in Los Angeles.
Here are some vintage shots of Los Angeles Oldsmobile dealerships.
I believe I remember hearing that the metal rocket which stood for years at Albertson Brothers in Culver City still exists. If anyone knows, please let me know.
Hardin Brothers Oldsmobile was not listed in 1955, so at this time (1959 or 1960) it must have been quite new.
Natzel Oldsmobile was at 1253 E. Colorado St. in Pasadena.
Lubik Oldsmobile was in Bordertown, New Jersey, but this is such a great postcard shot I could not resist including it here.
