Retro slides: Venice, November 1988 -- boat ride to Murano and back
We crossed the lagoon via a water taxi.
Passing the island cemetery of San Michelle. Among those buried here is Igor Stravinsky.
I wonder if this particular glass blower is still working on Murano, twenty-five years hence.
Approaching Venice, one is suddenly struck by the thought that this is the precise view travelers had seen for hundreds of yeras.
It all looks like an impossibly opulent movie set or matte painting.
