1959 Cadillacs

Few cars could claim to be more flamboyant than the 1959 Cadillac, the ultimate Retro Rocket. Left, the Cadillac Sedan deVille four window, now commonly referred to as a 'flat top'. Flat tops were available in all divisions at GM for a few years but apparently did not sell well. I can't think why but I always tilt towards zany given the choice. At the right, a slightly more sedate Coupe deVille.
The following several pictures are of the Sedan deVille.
What that rear window looks like from inside. No blind spots here.

A particularly flattering angle showing the curve of the fin meeting the curved roofline.
Get ready for take-off. Next stop, the moon.
The following pictures are of the Coupe deVille.

If you have soaring fins and jet exhaust at the rear, then you definitely need jet intakes at the front.

Following, a film strip (with accompanying record) tells the tale of the 1959 Cadillac is six sections. These film strips were sent to dealers.
