Two 1958 Edsels -- a convertible and a Bermuda station wagon

I took hundreds of shots of spectacular 1950s and 1960s cars the West Coast Show July 8 - 11 2010 in beautiful San Luis Obispo. It will take several posts to include my favorites.

In 1958, one of the few positive things critics noticed about the Edsel was that it was finless, but that was not entirely true. Edsel's Bermuda station wagon had rather obvious fins, as you can see. It's clear they didn't quite know what to do with those interesting long, horizontal tail lights they designed for the standard models. Perfectly understandable until you consider in the following year, Chevrolet didn't hedge from putting the even wackier gull wing back end design on all their models, even the El Camino 'pickup' model.
